Sheboygan firefighters extinguish apartment fire

Fire caused estimated $45,000 in damage; cat rescued

On Saturday, August 26th at 6:34 AM, the Sheboygan Fire Department responded to an apartment fire at 727 Alabama Avenue.

Seven fire units responded and found a first floor, room on fire that was quickly extinguished by firefighters. Two occupants were displaced and assisted by American Red Cross. The dollar loss due to this fire was estimated to be $45,000 that included personal property according to Battalion Chief Kevin Anhalt. One cat was rescued from the second floor apartment and there were no reported injuries.

The cause of the fire has been declared undetermined.
