Volunteer fire department located west of Random Lake

Silver Creek Fire DepartmentSILVER CREEK — A fire department in the unincorporated community of Silver Creek in Sheboygan County is celebrating 100 years of service.

The Silver Creek Fire Department held an event on Saturday, September 9th that featured historic artifacts, tours of the Flight for Life medical helicopter, live music and a centennial ceremony.

The volunteer fire department serves the Town of Sherman which is west of the Village of Random Lake. The department was officially assembled as a fire department in 1917. This was done for the benefit of the community in light of several catastrophic fires that had occurred in previous years according to a fire official.

Silver Creek Fire Department now responds jointly with the Random Lake Fire Department to calls.
